Founded in 1948, Tamarak is the premiere day camp serving Chicago's northern suburbs. We have established a reputation for providing the finest programs with a special emphasis on swimming, magnificent grounds and facilities and an experienced, highly trained staff. The Tamarak program provides a safe and fun camp experience, emphasizing skill development, sportsmanship, self-esteem and encouragement of group skills.

Families may chose any option or combination of weeks that they prefer. Door to Door Bus Transportation is included.

We operate a one week residential summer camp for children ages 7-16 who have Tourette Syndrome and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and to a lesser degree ADD/ADHD. We also offer other programs through out the year.

WSRA offers a Summer Day Camp for individuals with special needs for 9 weeks out of the summer. Ages range from 7-21. There is a Rainbow Camp option for the last two weeks of summer for children ages 3-6. We participate in a variety of activities including games, crafts, sports, swimming, theme days and group challenges. Fridays are an additional registration with feild trips planed for extra fun. Camp Independence is a special place for campers age seven and up with spina bifida and other neurological disablities. Like many Y programs, Camp Independence is about learning skills, developing character and making friends. But few environments are as special as camp, where kids become a community as they learn both how to be more independent and how to contribute to a group. At camp, we teach self-reliance, a love for nature, and the development of attitudes and practices that build character—all amidst the fun of camp fires, boating, archery, games, and meaningful relationships. Our counselors are dedicated to making sure camp is an amazing experience for every camper.
