Anchorage Museum Summer Camps

From robotics and dinosaurs to art, engineering and more, the Anchorage Museum has a camp topic to suit nearly every 7- to 12-year-old’s interest. Designed to foster imagination and experimentation in art, science and technology, campers learn, play and create through exploring museum objects and resources under the guidance of trained educators.

Birchwood Camp offers dynamic faith based camping programs for children, youth and adults focused on building community and faith formation.Birchwood provides camping opportunities for children entering first grade to recent high school grads, and we are expanding our opportunities to include adults and families. These camping programs are sponsored by the United Methodist Church and are open to all. The Camp is nestled quietly between the Chugach Mountains and the Cook Inlet about 30 minutes north of Anchorage, Alaska. Birchwood Camp has wonderful log cabins and is located on 160 acres of pristine Alaskan forest, including a 35 acre lake.

Gear up your camper for a week of outdoor adventures at our day camp located in Anchorage on the campus of Alaska Pacific University. We take full advantage of this natural setting, making every day another opportunity for campers to go marching through the forest on a hike, practice target sports, or launch a canoe from the waterfront. In addition to a huge catalog of activities, games, and regular swim lessons, we structure each session around a unique theme to build campers’ excitement towards a grand finale on the last day.

Singing Hills is located outside Chugiak (Mirror Lake exit) on beautiful Edmonds Lake. Girl Scout Day Camp at Singing Hills is based on the Girl Scout Leadership Experience - girls discover the leader inside themselves, connect with others and take actiion to make the world a better place.

Each week of camp will focus on one aspect of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience. Each week incoroprates the "connect" leadership experience as girls work together as a team and with their counselors. Of course, each week girls will have a chance to try all the activities camp has to offer including canoeing, hiking/environmental education activities, arts and crafts and outdoor cooking.
