Summer Camp & Horse Ranch * Girls 6-16

This is what summer is all about! For more than 50 years Black River Farm and Ranch has been the place that girls escape to for the best summer camp experience on earth! A short drive from Detroit, MI just outside the chaos of city life you will find paradise at the end of a dirt road…The BR is the place to be if you are a girl who loves horses and wants to have fun. Your days will be filled with riding lessons, trail rides, vaulting, swimming, arts and crafts, boating, archery, and much more! Where else can you choose from more than 70 different horses and have an hour and a half riding lesson every day.

Black River Farm and Ranch is licensed by the State of Michigan, approved by the State Health Department, and Accredited by the American Camping Association. We are celebrating more than 50 years of camping owned and operated by the same family.

A charming 160 year old ranch house centers all of the other buildings on the 360 acre farm and ranch in the thumb area of Michigan. The west boundary of the ranch is more than 2 miles of the Black River. A stream wandering through the valley, a five-acre lake, natural woodlands and the fields of the River Bend farm combine to create a perfect setting for girls out on a horseback ride.

Camp Cavell is a beautiful camp located right on Lake Huron on the thumb of the Michigan mitten! With 100 years of experience we have learned to make camp incredibly fun while working to create an experience that will touch the heart of our campers and open up their minds to care about themselves, others and the natural world around them.

Camp Ozanam is celebrating 97 years of summer camp! The Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SVdP) offers a five week summer camp program for boys and girls at Camp Ozanam. For over 90 years we've been building within our staff, campers, and families a firm foundation of our Catholic Faith. Camp Ozanam offers families, served by SVdP throughout the year, the opportunity to send their child to camp to experience all that a traditional camp has to offer in a caring Catholic community.

Enrollment is open to campers of all religious faiths. Campers do not have to be Catholic to attend our camp but they do need to go through their local Catholic Church that has a St. Vincent de Paul (SVdPD) Conference. Please call the Catholic Church in your area to see if they have a SVdPD Conference or if they can recommend a parish close by that has one. You may also contact St. Vincent de Paul Detroit to find your local SVdPD Conference by calling (313) 393-2930. Be sure to ask for assistance in finding a local SVdPD Conference so that you can enroll in Camp Ozanam’s summer camp program.

We are a traditional Catholic based week long camp located on the shores of Lake Huron for kids ages 7 - 16. We offer a variety of activities, including water sports, archery, cook-outs, crafts, and sleep-outs. At the Boys Camp we also offer a week of Coed traditional and specialty programming.
