For 36 years, Camp Granada, a residential camp, has been bringing children with diabetes the opportunity to meet other children with diabetes in a medically safe, supervised environment.

The experience allows them to identify with one another, learn about themselves, and learn to cope with diabetes on a daily basis. While swimming, canoeing, playing kick ball, dancing, and making new friends, they will also be learning how to give their own shots, calculate insulin dosages, count carbs, and manage their diabetes.

Campers are assigned to cabins according to gender and age group. A full medical team of physicians, nurses, and dietitians experience in diabetes care are available on site 24 hours a day.

The American Diabetes Association is committed to providing educational information and referral services for children with diabetes and their families, advocating for fair and quality treatment of children with diabetes in schools, and increasing federal funding for diabetes research.
