Camp Atwater is the oldest African American-owned residential camp in the U.S., founded in 1921. The camp sits on 75 scenic acres by Lake Lashaway with a 3-acre island. Transportation from select cities is available for a fee. Staff-to-camper ratio is excellent, and visiting days are scheduled for families.
